Another day out
Myself and Tommy decided to take a run out on Sunday 13-12-09, the weather was looking good and it was probably the last chance we would get this year.
We headed out of Ballylumford and we headed straight out to the spirel the north side of the Maidens, fishing was slow and not to much happened out there so we headed over to the maidens to try for the Pollock that we know are normally around, we had a few drifts but not too much happening, Tommy did hook into a couple of nice Pollock in the 3-4lb range and a nice colourful Cookoo Wrasse.
We then decided we would go anchor of at the North marker at Hunter’s Rocks and fish the bottom on the low tide.
We had the normal doggies and small ling and a few small Huss, but Tommy had the fish of the day with a nice Bull Huss around the 10lb mark.
All in all we had a good day, weather was kind to us and the fishing did pick up once we found the right spot.
